Boosterpalooza, the annual Evanston Township High School (ETHS) Boosters’ fundraiser is virtual for 2020 with a night of online activities and musical performances Saturday, Sept. 12. The eighth edition of the event (traditionally held atop a parking garage) is a flashpoint for a refocused mission to foster wellness, connection and engagement through the arts, clubs and sports ahead of a most unusual school year. Registration and the event will be held at (or register by texting “boosterpalooza” to 76278).
“We’ve moved to the laptop from the rooftop because the event is still vital for ETHS extracurriculars – maybe more than ever,” said Boosterpalooza Co-Chairperson Kara Mann. “This year, we are working even harder to foster wellness, connection and engagement for our students. Funds raised through Boosterpalooza support more than just athletics to include all student groups and extra-curricular programs.”
Registrants can engage in the auction throughout the day with programming from 7p.m. – 10 p.m. Musical entertainment for the night includes performances by the ETHS Marching Band, the SIYAHAMBA Virtual Choir made up of ETHS alumni, along with local favorites Chickenbone, Alongside Harold and more. Talent will perform both live and “live-to-tape.”
“We recognize that it may be a challenging time for people to donate,” says Co-Chairperson Kimberly Dietz. “All support is greatly appreciated by the Boosters. We work closely with ETHS directors to ensure every club, team or group that requests support gets it.”
Examples of the breadth of the Boosters’ impact in the shortened 2019-2020 school year include:
  • Physical therapy devices for training team
  • Girls basketball practice jerseys
  • Portable piano, alto and soprano xylophones for the Wildkit Ensemble (Marching Band)
  • Replacement flooring for the ETHS Dance Co.
  • New gaming components for the Dungeons and Dragons Club
  • New laptops for the DECA team
The purpose of the ETHS Boosters is to encourage and promote all extracurricular activities at ETHS. We are the only Booster clubs in the Central Suburban League that supports music, fine arts, and after-school clubs, in addition to sports. ETHS Boosters also sponsors Senior Parent Day, the Senior Sports Dinner, scholarships, and the Crystal E Award.

Dear Boosterpalooza 2019 Attendee,

Thank you for joining us at Boosterpalooza 7!  780 people enjoyed a beautiful evening that highlighted the community, food, and music of Evanston.  Over $80,000 was raised, which allows the ETHS Boosters to support 100 teams in 30+ sports, 80+ clubs, and eight ETHS theater department productions. Your attendance the other night helped to make those events possible and gives ETHS students opportunities they might not otherwise have.
I'd like to give a huge shout out and thanks to the rock star Boosterpalooza volunteer committee: Wendy Vasquez, Marissa Elliot, Valeria Bailey, Lynn Boutross, Steve Johnson, Amy Boyle, Susan  Rohrback,Ronda Renaeu, Candace Darrah, Rob Bady, Kristine Lofquist, Sue Coyle, KelliAnn McArthur, Diane Lequar, Jason Miles, Patty Barbato, Julie Cutter, Allie Payne, Isabel Schultz, Andrew Schultz, Cathy Lindner, Marie-Edmonde Parisien, Susan Petersen, Gabe Brooks, Jud Brooks, Kendra Morrill and Jenny Blickenstaff. We could not have done it without the roughly 100 parent volunteers who helped set up, serve food and drinks, collect raffle tickets, work registration, and cleanup the day and night of the party.
Thanks to the ETHS Jazz and Marching bands, Jeanie B! and Suite Mollie for providing fantastic music throughout the night. Thank you to our food and beverage sponsors: Temperance Beer Co, Wine Goddess, Smylie Brothers, Good to Go, La Macchina, Bangers & Lace, Peckish Pig, J's Cupcakes, Curt's Cafe, Jennifer's Edibles,DB3 donuts, Insomnia Cookies and La Principal. We can't thank our 58 Corporate Sponsors and 115 Parent Sponsors enough for their support of the ETHS Boosters. Check out the full list of sponsors on and be sure to thank them the next time you visit their business.
We are so appreciative of our partnership with the City of Evanston. Without them, we could not have had such a perfect venue for our event.  Thanks to their staff for kindly helping to coordinate the paperwork and space.
Keep an eye out on the Boosters social media pages, along with for many photos from the event taken by Lynn Trautman of LT Photo.  Thank you, Lynn, for your continued support of Boosterpalooza.
Hope to see you all at Boosterpalooza 2020!
Thank you!
